Jefferson Grapevine Meets at SOU on May 16, 2012
MEDFORD, OR – Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc. (SOREDI) is pleased to announce that the Jefferson Grapevine will meet at the Schneider Museum of Art on the SOU Campus on Wednesday, May 16 from 5:00 – 7:30 pm.

Operating under SOREDI, the Jefferson Grapevine is home to our region’s entrepreneurs, start-ups and concept stage companies and exists to connect them to the various resources needed to grow, including; access to capital, professional development and educational events. Vital partners in this effort include the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) that operate in conjunction with SOU and RCC; the Sustainable Valley Business Incubator and the Oregon Entrepreneur Network (OEN). Sponsors of the Jefferson Grapevine series are Bank of the Cascades, Avista Utilities, Pacific Power and Cutler Investment Group.

This Jefferson Grapevine will feature SOU’s own Master’s in Management Student, Evan Wilson, who will present his business plan for Rogue Valley Messenger, set to launch this summer.

Brian Phelps of Montrue Technologies, the top pick at the recent Southern Oregon Angel Conference, will share their journey and lessons learned as they grew from a concept to a launch stage company and came to realize they needed to partner with Angel Investors.

A RARE OPPORTUNITY: There will be a panel of three Angel Investors who will be sharing their thoughts with us as they describe the process of assessing local start-ups for investment. If you’ve ever wondered how to access Angel Investor money to grow your company, you won’t want to miss this. They will be taking questions from our audience.

And, especially important for our entrepreneurs, the START UP & SHOUT OUT feature be an “open-mic” opportunity to share who they are, what they are working on and to ask our audience of experts for assistance. The TAG Team (Technical Advisory Group) will be in the audience, prepared to volunteer a little of their time and expertise to help our region’s start-ups navigate obstacles and reach the next level.
