CW Smith

CW Smith is currently a Jackson County Commissioner and is well known as being the Jacksonville County Sheriff from 1983-1995, where he was involved in many new and innovative programs. He brought the DARE program to the youth of Jackson County, revitalized Jackson County's Search and Rescue program and reinvigorated the Jackson County Marine Patrol Program. Smith was voted Oregon Sheriff of the Year for 1989-1990.

In addition, Smith served as interim City Manager for Lakeview, Oregon and as Police Chief for the City of Talent. He was a radio talk show host, private business owner and manager of a farming operation. He served in the United States Air Force and is a Vietnam Veteran.
